I like to paint outdoors or "en plein air." My work captures the Oregon
landscape. I often paint in places I know well . . . where I walk, the
places we find birds, or the estuary where we boat. Sometimes my
subject matter is chosen for other reasons. I find a new spot and am
drawn in by the visual relationships it presents. I thrive on the
process of painting itself.
I earned a BFA in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1974. My teachers included Bruce McGaw and Julius Hatofsky.
